Hey Friends,
I'm in the process of setting up a BaT auction for my LC.

As I've mentioned before, there are a ton of great quality take-off parts that should go with the bike.  Perfect condition stock 4U0 pipes, center stand, carbs, brake system, rear mudguard with reflector, etc, etc.

Obviously, these parts are worth their weight in gold to a buyer wanting to return the bike to stock condition.

Unfortunately, BaT shipping only covers the bike, and if I include the parts with the auction, "BAT SHIPPING IS NOT AVALABLE FOR THIS AUCTION".

This seems like it may limit bidder involvement to those able or willing to deal with shipping or local pickup themselves.

How would you deal with this?  Seems to me hassle-free shipping and the spare parts hold similar value.

I would add 'spare parts can also be obtained at time of sale, shipping of parts responsibility of buyer to arrange'

Yup.

I suggested:  "I feel the hassle-free BaT shipping holds as much or more value as the spare parts.  Is it possible to include the spares in the listing/auction and ship them myself separately?  How have others handled this in the past?  Can they be mentioned as "available separately with shipping the responsibility of the buyer" and I will deal with it with the buyer on my own?"

Hopefully this fits within the BaT playbook.

Understandably, they have a lot of rules about what can and cannot be done within one of their auctions.

How much is the BAT shipping?
Is it required?

I have used Haul Bikes 3 or 4 times already = YES they are slow = $600 max price for all USA
Cheaper if you pickup at their local hub

But extra parts were strapped to the bikes, or strapped to the seat in a box = No Problem with them.

I also signed up for Coyote.com
LT2 from Walla Walla to Florida = $325, must be on a pallet = had parts box with it.

Oh, I know shipping a bike/parts isn't difficult or terribly expensive.

I just know if I was buying a bike on BaT, I would enjoy the convenience of using their vetted shipping service.

One less thing to deal with.

Haha, wow!  BaT in-house shipping is expensive AF.

$625 to get a Gamma from central Washington to me here in NW Oregon (250mi)
$2700 to get a KX250 from Ft Meyers, FL to me here in Portland.  (3200mi)

Maybe the parts are worth more than the shipping?

We'll see what they say.
