Similar to some of the USPS crap I've had recently. One package from the East Coast made it to So Cal then went to Hawaii to before returning to So Cal for delivery to me a week after it was due. And a recent one a few weeks ago from AZ took over a week to get to So Cal via Vegas. It then went through at least 8 distribution centers in So Cal before routing back through Vegas and starting the process over again. It arrived about 6 days later.

It's almost funny.

This week I got a box of live worms from Idaho -> NJ in two days, USPS.  Worms might not have enjoyed that circuitous route.

All of our cross town mail goes to Spokane,WA and then back to Lewiston,ID

I thought the same thing but USPS is self funded and does not receive tax dollars. It is an oddity in that it is a business controlled by the government stemming from the Post Office Act of 1792. I only use them for letter mailing.
