Hey gang, I wanted to introduce my self and project. I sold my RD400 cafe years ago and while I had a few bikes I missed the RD. I recently purchased this 77 from a family member (probably over paid) but it was what I wanted so onward!
My plan is to keep the stock pipes and fairly stock setup, I do plan to add electronic ignition and maybe super bike bars. My plan is to send the engine to Toomeys to speed up the project. I plan to leave all of the finishes as they are and do tapered head shims, swing arm bushings, forks, brakes, tires, etc.
I'm not really sure on the engine specs at this point, I'm still doing research on that.

A little dusty :dawg: but appears to be all stock and original. Nice! Even the inside of the tank looks good. I agree with Mark, since it's so original try to keep close to stock in your resurrection project.  Your plan sounds good.

Should clean up nicely. Any idea why the heads/cylinders were removed?
Also see a MO inspection sticker. What area are you in?

My plan is to leave it very original. The bike either seized or holed a piston, I'll probably have Toomey go thru the bottom end as I don't want to install this engine twice. I'm located in Southeast Mo, 2.5 hours from STL.
The owner has three large buildings of amazing 1970s bikes but doesn't want to sell much, please don't ask! I'm family and have talked to him for five years about this bike and had to step up. I think this bike will clean up pretty decent, I take very good care of my bikes but go hard when I'm on the so probably won't go too cosmetic.
