(not mine)
Several Daytonas have popped up recently on Craigslist nearby. This one is interesting. I don't recall ever seeing a fully faired Daytona before. FPPs on it too  The rearset/passenger peg brackets are...let's say unusual.
Not sure why he thinks it's a race bike or that 16K miles is "very low"  :umm:

1979 Yamaha Daytona Special, street legal racing bike. Very good condition but I am too old to ride this bike. Beautiful bike, very low miles 16,000 miles.

I actually kind of like the full fairing on there- gives it more of a TZR250 look. Agree the extended foot peg brackets are weird- looks like maybe they used the stock location of passenger pegs incorporated into their home-made rear sets? Race bike with stock shocks lol. 16k isn't anyone's idea of low miles that I know

Overall the price seems good for Daytona if it runs good and doesn't need a ton of sorting out to be a reliable rider.

It certainly has possibilities, but those mirrors,,,wow

I like Daytona Specials so it seems worth the $5500. I suppose if the motor craps the bed in the first week you own it then it's not a good deal. Kinda like the fairings, the paint scheme just ehh.

I guess it's not running now?
Would be interesting to see if the seller would allow a prospective buyer to remove the fairings and fully inspect it;sellers don't usually allow that though,do they..
