Got some new rotors in today. When I opened the box I was unpleasantly surprised to see they had different drill patterns.  Of course the company is going to make good and send a matching set. Which one should I get, the one
with slots or the other? Does it really matter... Opinions appreciated.

suey1958

I like the one with the slots.

The one on the right (my preference) will look the same no matter which side it's mounted. Unless they do a left and right for the pattern on the left it just won't look right............to me. Whether you can live with it is purely a personal decision.

The one with the slots looks like it would be lighter.

Hawaii-Mike

I like the disc on the left because it looks closer to old school.

SUPERTUNE

Old school for me too... the left one. It is correct for right side stock mounting, no reason to go twin disk for front, too heavy and the steering feels slow at speed to me.
Where did they come from? Have a link? Are they replacement stock diameter disks?

EBC makes them.  I don't see the link on their site, it's on there somewhere.

Buy a Drill Doctor if they're used. That stuff work hardens and kills drill bits. And pick up some old fashioned cutting oil. Case of beer or whatever suits yer fancy wouldn't hurt either.  ;D

They are not that bad with a good quality bit.  I drilled 2 of them, 100 holes each and swapped out for a new bit with about 30 holes to go.

For you guys late to the party the rotors are being replaced.  Like the ones on the left also Tuck. Older school and not so busy for a 40 year old bike. Did you actually mention what bike they were for ?

SUPERTUNE

Most likely to go on his Daytona hot rod with a STG 2 60HP, TSR engine setup, needs to stop now!

One more vote for the disc on the left. Feels more period correct to me.

I had to go with the slotted version, as for the one on the left as been discontinued  :umm: As long as I have a little more
stopping power that's all that matters.
