1986 Honda NS400R Two-Stroke! - $12800 (Vista)
For sale is an ultra-rare 1986 Honda NS400R two-stroke motorcycle for $12,800. Properly titled and registered in CA, this bike runs great and has less than 1000 km on a new engine. Odometer shows 26,296 km (16,339 miles), and previous owner found a new engine so he had it installed.

Bike was just serviced and has new CDIs and petcock. There are a few cosmetic issues (see pictures) that are all fixable if you choose. Don't miss this opportunity to own this great bike. Oil injector intact and working properly. The same model and color bike sold at the Mecum auction in Las Vegas in January for $24,200! (see last picture).

Please text or email with any questions. If the ad is still up, the bike is still available.

Also for sale is a CA titled and plated 1985 Suzuki RG250 two-stroke for $6200.
Also for sale is a CA titled and plated 1990 Honda CBR250RR for $6500.
Also for sale for a 1992 TZR 250 SP motorcycle is a bundle of parts worth over $14,000 individually for $8000.

Unfortunately not a very fun motorcycle.  Well put together like you would expect from a Honda but honestly less interesting than a RD350.

Dents scratches and scrapes...definitely too expensive!

Especially number 6 on tank in such visible place and made worse with the nail polish touch up.

What makes them so uninteresting?

Perhaps you just didn't have the one you owned properly set up and tuned?   :umm:

Sounds like a typical Drew comment....accuse people of not knowing what they are doing.

I usually build bike about a month.  Many vintage 2 strokes.

They were all well tuned and properly jetted.  We had 3 of them so unless they were all duds.  I doubt many people can say that in the last 5 years.

It was typical Honda over-engineering.  The power delivery is rather linear.  Less power than expected for a 400 triple.  The frame was nice and tight so handling was likely the highlight.  I suppose I had high expectations given they are often thrown in as the 3rd of the big displacement bikes beside the RZ and RG.  It just wasn't anything special.  Not 'bad' just highly disappointing...
