Decided to try to make my own shift indicator with my 3D printer. Currently trying to design it, Wish I had my neutral switch cover handy to get the exact measurement. Created a cad file from images online. Going to put brass m2 or m3 thread inserts the holes.

If anyone has the measurements hand, let me know the LxWxH in millimeters.

Thank you.

Awesome,  I would be interested in a couple of them if you get it done! Great work so far

I figured people would be interested in them. It will be awhile, I need to do a ton of test prints and mods to make sure it works. Ordering a bunch of parts for this right now. They would be capable with R5 as well.

Should work on rd400 and rz as well

you can take a stock one and just use m3 allens countersunk. I had one on my rz that i got from a guy that was selling them forever ago, he cast them.  No longer available, but was neat gadget that was, well, kinda useless.  :dawg:  but, looks like a fun project.

Pointless is correct! I enjoy making things in CAD and printing them on my printer. Gives me an excuse to have and use it.

What do you mean use a counter sunk allen? I was thinking of using a stock one and modding it, but would know how to space the connection and I would probably mess up and need to by several switch covers.

use a countersink Allen, hed towards motor. then you have screw lugs to hook wires too  . as far as the distance, just measure the sweep and divide it up. even on a printed part this is the easiest way. the screws will be your contact points.  use case sealant between the head and printed part.

Gotcha! I will make a note of that. I was going to put a threaded rivet and JB weld them down, but the countersink Allens is a much better method to hold the contact point there. Thanks!

Will keep everyone posted

Did a test print last night with the correct dimensions. Modified some stuff but should work.
