Guess this is old news, but Bore Tech is no longer doing cylinder boring.

Was planning on using their services for my 2020 season race bike build, guess the search for another reputable bore shop begins.

Shoot, didn't know that. They did my RZ cylinders a few years ago, seemed to be the go-to people for bore work.

It's always sad to see guys go out of business or retire.
Good for me though... as I picked up a lot of Bill's bore work.

I've bored over 15,000 cylinders in my lifetime and hope to keep going. (60 coming up soon)
Bought my Rottler Boring Bar new in 1981, still using it today for most of the 4/2 stroke vintage cylinders.
Also have a Precision Bore Master for a lot of the industrial engines I do for power equipment / mower shops I service for now.

Had a Sunnen CK10's/CV-616's when I owned the automotive engine shop for 20 years. Sold it after I got out of the automotive machine shop work and went full time with Motorcycles, Jetski's and ATV work.

I had about 15-20 engines running at Barber Vintage Festival this month, even got 3 in the top 5 in F-500!

Garrett GRA400C Amner does all my bore jobs.

Great pricing and lightning fast turnaround 👍

Pics of my Rottler Boring Bar I bought new...

Pics of Sunnen honed cylinder using specialized industrial quad honing stones.
These are really good at precision honing on 2stroke cylinders, much better than the normal standard honing stones that are made for cylinder honing.

Another major key to great machine work is the Sunnen dial bore gauge.

Pics of measuring Dave T's cylinders...as you can see the somewhat recently bore work that was done, was really loose for cast Pro-X pistons!
No saving this one for a Team Scream built setup...had to be bored again.

Yamaha manual:

I even have the same micrometer as Yamaha uses!  8) Other than MINE is in inches...

Finished job going together...(Frank B's bike now!)
