My conventional yuasa (12n5.5a-3b) battery life crapped out recently. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a maintenance free alternative?

My BikeMaster TruGel, 2 years now has been flawless.  :twocents:

I buy the agm's for a Yamaha Zuma 50.
Just pack some foam in the tray as they are a little skinnier.
About  $35. Have sold them for years.  I've had them last 5 years!! :righteous:

Yup.

After wasting time and money on lithium's, I'm back on the basic AGMs.

About $30 from BatteriesPlus and way more forgiving than Li.  Keep it on a tender when you're off it for more than a few weeks and it'll last for many years.

I like the Bikemaster AGM's.  Mr Super Deals on E-bay is a great seller.  Once my battery died prematurely and he helped me with the process of getting a replacement under warranty: https://www.ebay.com/usr/mrssuperdeals?_trksid=p2047675.l2559

Great! I think I'll try the AGM. The yuasa I have is 12v 5.5ah. I'm guessing the safest bet is to match this exactly.

5ah is fine. Doesn't need to be 5.5

I found these Motoclassic batteries on Amazon. One is not quite 5Ah, but the size seems compatible. There is also a 6.5ah version, but am not sure if the amperage is going to be too high.

I also found this one. Although it is 7ah, it says it's a direct replacement for my yuasa battery and that it will fit the RD350.

I am running a couple of Moto Batts. They are good batteries.
