I've no doubt that it is rare. However $8600 for an unusable part is a bit much. Pretty sure you could have one made from billet for that. Maybe it would be good for a museum piece?

40+ year old magnesium anything is going to be like unfired clay pottery unless it was under oil. I had a mag Alfa bellhousing that was so rotten you could break pieces off with your fingers. It was also coincidentally from a TZ. Tubolare Zagato... GTA part #. Rare but worthless.

Unrepairable. Welding is not going to fix it. The color says it all. Might make an interesting lamp.

At least they are clean.

This seller has a bunch of RD cylinders NOT sold as pairs listed for $$$ individually. Probably has a blasting cabinet apparently as they are all blasted clean. A pair of the cylinders have welded on pipe flanges and appear to have had porting work.
