I never understood the appeal of daytonas, but to each their own. Worst time to sell right now too.

Back in the day were hard to find of course since the internet their everywhere. The 78 was and still is by far my favorite.

What is the riding impression of a Daytona vs RD400? Was it generally considered an improvement or just neutered?

Sorry if this is thread hacking, I've just always been intrigued.

Neutered at best. I agree with the last 3 comments.
To me, for whatever it is worth, best thing about the Daytona was the paint. Sorry Paul.

But, like you say, To each their own. BUT, 9k range, Why I autta ;D

Neutered. Detuned to meet EPA requirements. Definitely NOT an improvement.
Exhaust butterfly valve, crappy carb setup, shitty brakes. Cool name though.

Here you just see Daytona or red 77 for sale , the 78 is by far the rarest of all .

Yep, and needs several more of those drops to be reasonable.

It does look like a nice one though. As the saying goes. Somethings only worth what somebody is willing to pay.
