XT250 tank compatibility

I have a customer looking for a tank for an 83 XT250. I know that 81-83 are interchangeable and a similar year TT250 tank will fit.

He wants a plastic tank. Do any of you know if other models or years will fit even if a little modification is required?

Funny coincidence. My youngest son and myself have been working on his XT250 lately. I bought it for him a couple of years ago, as an easy project. Those XTs are nice little commuters and casual trail riding bikes. Simple, light and good looking.
New tires front and rear, cleaned drums)shoes, new chain, new cables all over, new batterty, hooked up wiring, new footpegs and shifter, oil and filter, etc. Slowly getting there......
