The whole west coast is on fire.

Real time pic:  11:21am today in front of the house.  That's all smoke.  No clouds.

Many of my friends and co-workers have been evacuated from their homes.  Many businesses are closed due to the horrible air quality.  No immediate threat here where we are, but there are fires burning out of control less than 30mi to the NE and SE of here.

Huge parts of Sonoma were levelled by wildfires last year, was your brother out here then, Mark?

The other day, Wednesday maybe(?) on the Creek Fire (down by Fresno CA) it was as dark as midnight at 2pm with thunder rolling overhead. CO detectors blaring inside of structures. Never seen anything like that before.

That's crazy.
It's been smoky here all week with an orange sun. Even some ash falling and I'm 35mi & 60mi miles from the two nearest fires

It's bad here in Ukiah (about 100 miles N of San Francisco). 2 Wheelers are safely tucked away away from the ash.

Come to New England. Fresh air from all the trees that surrounds us. :)

That's quite an invitation! Is it just for that one member, or everyone on the west coast?

Oh, we have plenty of trees here in Oregon too.

Problem is, they're currently all on fire.

Been there.

I had a GF from Merrimack NH long ago.  Spent some time in Boston, NH, VT, Maine, etc.

I know New England is chill, but I'm a west coast kid, and just couldn't hang with the east coast vibe.  Way too many people, all in too much hurry.

Real time reading, twice as bad as it was before ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️

I completely understand. I have a west coast heart and an east coast mentality. We are always in a hurry over here. Geez, things escalated quickly, hope you're safe and alright.

Less than a hundred miles North of Portland it's better; always hazy and it's like my springtime allergies are back. Jim, if it gets scary there come on up. We'll make room for y'all, and that includes your bikes!
