I guess we will have a go at this one more time.
Happy to see another place open for us stroker lovers again....

Where to start....?

Spring of 1985 I wanted in the worst way a RZV500R.....but realized at that point in time it would never materialize.
So I did the next best thing and bought a used RZ350......

35 years later and I still will never say goodbye.

After I painted bike in 86, I added Toomey pipes and carb kit.....and twisted the crank about 2 months after.
So I sent out the bad part to SPEC II and had them do a full stage 3 port and head work to it, along with a rebuilt and welded crank, bigger carbs, reed valves, and pistons.... Engine going back in

Rode for a few years, but other bikes were used more and more, and the RZ got pushed into various basements and rooms of homes for about 20 years.
Then....
Found a deal of a lifetime when I had the chance to swap out my perfect condition wheels and brakes to someone who had a set of Dymags..
.....even trade... I think I got the better end on that deal

AFter getting the Dymags on, I decided to take it back to original paint for it's 30th birthday.
So in 2014 my ZZ top style 80's paint had to go...kinda sad in a way as that was when I really had fun on the bike.
But it's still the same little screamer it has always been....

And a moment of fame along with some of it's roommates

Looks super sharp with the Dymags and stock paint.

Czakky

The "ZZ Top" paint does have its charm, but i do like the stock paint.

Thanks guys

All these years and it only has a little over 6000 miles.
But it has been fired up several times every year just to keep things working, and went through the carbs just last fall when I put it to sleep.
Planning on taking it to the dyno when I get my RZV500R done and broke in...dyno guy hates seeing me bring in strokers, but is usually impressed by the time I leave.

Looks great with those Dymags.  Not yellow so it's slower than ours....

Don't piss off our dyno guy.  I have a pair of RD's to take there soon as well as the Phat Trakka (again).

I was wondering if you were on here.
Did you get your GT over to the dyno, since last I heard from you?
You said you were having a problem getting all 3 to fire all the time?

A sneak peek at the RZV

That 500 is lust worthy.. It's a really nice job you are doing.

And you are correct that I was having some issues with the GT that I had zero time to address.  And over the winter I had an RD350 to strip and rebuild and port and so on and a GT750 barrels to port and head to machine for a guy in Colorado, so not a lot of time for my bikes.

I also started to refresh the Dunstall.  There were a number of details that I wasn't wild about, so I ordered a small pile of shiny stainless hardware from the UK, got some fresh powder coat on some other parts, and I am about to send off the chrome parts for some extra bling. And to add to the confusion, Dave Derrick finished the changes to the GT750 "Altered" and I need to clear the decks before that arrives and then I'll have more work that I know what to do with. I have to build a motor as well as fabricating the bodywork and wiring it for data logger etc.  Was planning on using the Ignitech TCIP4 V88 on that but may upgrade to the multichannel CDI which as similar functionality but more power to the plugs.

And in an idle moment I stuck another GT750 on the frame jig and started removing OEM frame tubes which will be replaced with Chome moly in a slightly different pattern.

I did the same thing on the RD350 drag bike and of course it took way longer than I budgeted for, as did the one piece carbon fiber tank and side covers.

Thanks

That drag bike looks sweet
Is that the one that was hanging off a wall or on the ceiling?
Are those LC cylinders or TZ parts on it?

GT on a frame jig.....damn you do sound busy....I need to find where you are when it warms up.
I need a destination to get some use out of my 1290 Superduke GT.
And a full on drag chassis for a GT also?

I have been saying for years I know....but after this RZV I am really going to try and do something with the GT I have.... :-[

Barrels and cranks are TZ750 with Blaster Reed cages.  The pipes arrived as a set of cones that I had to weld and then cut at angles to re-weld to get the curves.  Right side cover is an R5 modified to take a TZ waterpump. Other than that it's more or less stock RD.

I would guess closer to less  ;D

As far as GT750's go, this was one I cleaned up after the rear rack and huge fairing came off....and powerwashed 15 years of dirt from sitting in the horse barn it was in. This was my wifes favorite bike once it was cleaned up and running.

About as close to 100% as possible except the seat.....which is long story in itself....

Chicago Motoblot.

The last pictures I took for the guy who eventually bought it....another long story.
But the proceeds went to bringing my RZV into the country.

And this is the pile of parts I have still, that I consider to be almost a motorcycle... Another GT750J frame and engine

That was a good looking bike - and a really early one with bolt on inlet manifolds.

Are you thinking mild restomod or something outrageous for the one you have left?

busa1300

More towards outrageous....definitely want a TR style cross through frame exhaust....just for looks
Also will need the frame cross braced at least.....if not something completely different/better
My RZV has become a financial vacuum.....may take a few months to recuperate my bike fund.....

Still need to try and get cylinders off the pistons....rusted pretty good.
Been soaking in oil for a few years, but need to get back at it after I get the 500 fired up and running.

The engine will need new everything....
It is a 72 same as frame....not that it matters for my intentions.

Damn these things are freakin heavy though....!!!
