steering damper

I thought I saw a video on replacing the oil in the RD steering damper. I can't find it now. Seems it said to loosen the screws and immerse it in oil.

Sound familiar? Anyone have a link or description on this?

thats correct, the 2 cross head screws come out and you can replace the oil. you can submerse it and move the paddle back and forth or fill it with a syringe.

bringing this back, cause I am there now. What weight oil to use? tia

2002 Kawasaki  ZRX 1200R  ( 99% complete)

ive used 20 wt fork oil before. Prob because i had it laying around.

cool, I just went through my forks and have 20wt left over. we used to use a silicon from our parts dept . ( a loong time ago ).
been wrenching for many years, still need help some times
1974 RD 350A ( full project bike)
2002 Kawasaki  ZRX 1200R  ( 99% complete)
