I took the RD350B out for a romp and it ran great.

I have been wiping down a seep from the clutch cover for a month or so and it is getting worse. And of course the paint is peeling off the head pipes on my newly painted chambers.

Pipes off. Engine covers disassembled,  cleaned, masked off and once all the threaded holes have bolts in them they are ready for the bead blast cabinet
The plan is to repaint the engine covers with Duplicolor Ceramic caliper paint and strip just the head pipes on the chambers. Then paint just the head pipes flat black 2000 degree high temp.If that doesn't stay on it back to the drawing board.

I managed to keep the water separator emptied and got them bead blasted. Ready for a wipedown with denatured alcohol and a good hot day for paint.

Stripped the head pipes and shot them with 2000 degree Rustolem.

I never thought of that. I love my pipes bare metal. The head pipes turn black in about a day. This is a good compromise. Just mask off and paint the head pipes...

Hopefully it will stay on and not peel off this time. I am about ready to save up to take them to the local powder-coat/ cerakote shop and give them way too much money to do them. I have never had this much trouble getting paint to stick to anything.

RH chamber scuffed with 600 wet/dry trimi. Re-shot belly with Duplicolor Ceramic caliper paint. Equal gloss achieved.

External engine covers shot with Duplicolor Ceramic caliper paint. Baking in the afternoon sun. It is 100 degrees F in the shop with the fans on.

Day 3 of the 100 plus degree paint bake here in Northern VA. Tape removal went well.

Thank you. They aren't perfect by any means, but way better than they were.
