I personally will take back as much of my hard-earned tax dollars as I can get. Remember the people who crafted the 5600-page bill gave foreign countries hundreds of millions of dollars of our money and then decided 600 was good enough for people here who lost everything. I am going to use mine to have some ash trees close to the house that were victims of emerald ash borer cut down before they do any damage.

RDFL

Their site says mine will be mailed 1/6, like first one even though they have my bank info.

I thought maybe a crank rebuild and a couple of cylinders bored...and SWOOP! My darling bride earmarked it for tuition (she's going to get a master's degree in teaching so she can make more $$ and support me in the manner to which I hope to become accustomed).

Congrats to your dear wife on her quest for a Master's!

My wife got hers in Speech Pathology 7 or 8 years ago.  She works in a middle school now.

We ain't rich, but it keeps her out of trouble.

We should all put our $600 together and buy a MotoGP team or something.

Insert joke about making a small fortune here...

My daughter just got her master's in teaching (thanks to dear old Dad $$$}. A big day care center contacted her and asked if she would be the director. She said how much $. They said what do you want? She told them and wasn't timid. They said OK, that's fine.

No such thing as a "FREE" lunch.      I in no way intend this to come across as condescending or shaming anyone.
While it is great news to hear many on this forum not needing this lunch money, there are a lot of others who have lost their ass on this political BS.  The Wife and Me are as fortunate as some others on here and we don't want/need and did not ask for this Govt. hand out, pre socialist bribery money.(?)  The hearts of many are in the right direction, i.e. spending it on "stuff" etc. to support the local economy. BUT,  I might guess that most have never needed to wait in a mile plus long food line to feed their family. That is about needing as it gets. Taking someone you have never met grocery shopping does more good than you could imagine, for both parties. We know from experience and look forward to again spending our "free lunch money" doing so. And yes, it also is stimulating the local economy,  and no we are not rich by any calculation.   :umm:

Here's what I just did. My long time buddy, over the last 3 years, has had all sorts of medical trouble. Heart attack, 2 separate stint installs, 2 remove cancer bladder ops, COPD, arthritis so bad he can't turn his head. He has lots of doctor appointments and his sister would have to travel to take him. He can't drive.
His daughter has started to hang out with him but she has nothing.
I bought a off lease Cadillac ATS about a year ago but still had my 2007 Mercury Milan AWD (Love the Caddy, it's a race car. My hot rod RD can blow it's doors off though in a short drag race). They approached me and asked if they could buy the Mercury and make payments on it. The look and feeling I got when I told them "you can have it" was priceless. He can get out of the house and do whatever he wants now.

I know the forum rules about no politics so I hope this comes across as to not break em but I have to say in my opinion regarding the free lunch....at this point yes we tax paying Americans are in debt as a nation so to speak and as far as I know that much like global warming this debt to the rest of the world will probably never change. However Congress is really good at fern fornification. The way I see it America is simply too big to fail in the business sense. So we as a country borrow more and print more money as well and probably will forever be forgiven by the rest of the world for it. The only thing I see wrong with it is that are gov't. can't get that money to those that really need it the most. You can bet that bottom dollar that they the gov't. will probably reconvene for an additional stimulus and as many as it takes to get what they consider back on track. I guess the way I see it with debt. forever looming in the horizon it's all kinda relative but at some point even the sanist economist have to understand one can only bleed so much. For ex. the average tax paying working man shouldn't have to lose their home over it.

The real elephant in the room is the world is overpopulated and we humans are killing the planet.
