Towing vehicle will be a 2024 Nissan Pro 4X

How about the length for the (4) bike setup above?

Looking into getting an Enclosed trailer.
7 x 14
7 x 16
8.5 x 16

want to fit (4) bikes in it.
(1) up front = in v-nose
(1) behind
(1) left
(1) right

is there enough room in the 7' wide one to do this
Also going to try & get the 6'-4" height, not the 7' height
  unless someone has other comments

Thanks

General Chatter / Getting Back In - RD500 Carb Sync
September 11, 2025, 03:00:50 PM
Getting started again on all my bikes.
Those hurricanes last year had me moving them all over, as well as damaged stuff.

I got my V45 Sabre out & cleaned the carbs.
Used the Digi-Sync to calibrate them. Worked great

I have my RD500 carbs off for cleaning, but I did not see any connection ports for the Digi Sync.
Maybe there are none & this wont work on this bike.

Popsicle stick method then?

I have a camping / RV space at the Barbers Swap meet this week.

I cant go.
Just still too much clean-up after the hurricanes.

Anyone here want them?

Sorry for short notice

I can get the bottom placement correct using your method above.
But then the spacing needs to be correct?

The OEM stickers I have are individual, all on one piece of paper.

I was thinking you just peal off the bottom, then put down & peal off top layer.

But, the lettering is not curved as to match the tank line.

I got my TZR250 gas tank painted.
I managed to find the " YAMAHA " decals for it.

When I place them, the bottom of the letters is not parallel with the Re/white transition line, like the originals were.

Are these meant to be cut into individual squares and then bottom lined up?
I was thinking that the whole decal was just placed at 1 time, before I started looking into this.

Thanks for any help

General Chatter / Re: Zinc Plating
October 03, 2024, 04:14:35 PM
I attached some pictures of my setup.
Also the plated parts
I then polished & dipped into the Chromate solution.

They said to dip 10 - 15 seconds.
But I found they came out way to yellow.
So I did 3 - 5 seconds.

If they are still to yellow, a quick dip into a 1% HCl solution then rinse should take some yellowing out.

Before you zinc plate, the parts must be clean, clean , clean, or the zinc wont stick.
took right out of the acid bath, rinsed with toothbrush & put right into plating solution.
I used an aquarium filter & pump to circulate & clean the solution
You cant leave the parts out after acid wash or they will flash rust.

Did about 3 - 5 quick zinc coats, polishing with toothbrush & rubbing compound in between.
Then after used a dremmal & soft wire wheel.
Dont clean the crevasses to much or the zinc will come off

BIG POINT:
They say to calculate the surface area of the part, and that will tell you the plating amps to use.
Well. if you look at the parts I did, theres no way.
BUT,  the plating is relative to your setup.
I did a part & found for my setup it took between 0.7 & 0.9 volts to plate correctly.
That was about 1 to 2.5 amps per piece depending on the size of the piece.
Just adjust the amp knob accordingly

You assume your solution is zinc+ saturated.  the electrodes remain at a constant distance apart.  In that manner each piece will be relative to another in plating using the voltages above

Has anyone ever tried this at home.

I have gotten it setup, and am having mixed results.
Trying to fine tune it.

They definitely dont come out all shiny.
They have to be polished

I do a quick search every couple days for bikes.

Seems like the prices are higher now that before.
And the bikes of poorer quality.
SO i see the same bike for sale month after month.
But no sales.

Only some few good finds

General Chatter / Vapor Blasting Carbs

I was hesitating on VB'ing my carbs, as not wanting the glass beads to plug any of the air passageways.
Has anyone done this before?

does not fit my RZ, nor the F2 model.
Maybe a 1981-82 seat?
