There was a melted connector between stator wires and what appears to be an aftermarket harness. The wire gauge looks a size smaller.  :bang: I'm hoping a modern charge controller will help with LEDs and extra current. Anyone else have good results with that?
Every day above ground is a good one.

that usually occurs when there's a low battery and the system is over taxed trying to charge the battery (might be a dead cell, or just run low). Or its over loaded, BUT, tbh, i've run a stock charging system with a 55w halogen bulb, electric water pump and an allison automotive ignition (yes on the same bike) and it never had an issue as it was maintained correctly.

BUT, to answer your question directly, yes, leds drop the load a significant amount.  :twocents:

Sorry, guess I worded that wrong. Bike has led signals and tail lights. Stock charging system.  My question is; will the lack of draw cause an overheating situation at the connector when charging system is trying to dump all the extra voltage?

I thought my bike could not handle the volts as well but it turned out to be a bad battery. The charging R/R kept everything at 12v and with the lights switched off it was pushing a little more.
Do not underestimate the power of a two-stroke.
