I saw that Daytona at Iconic.
Personally, I wouldn't touch anything that Kaplan has monkeyed with. A "previous Kaplan bike" lowers the value IMO.

Either forging parts or doing the same tasks over and over due to messing it up the first time.  Ask me how I know.

on the daytona:
im thinking 90 hours of labor was hand relieving the orange peel effect in the 'rattle can resto' paint on the clutch cover. the brushed paint on the frame vin is fucking mint though.

Looks like a $2500-$3000 bike to my eyes. I'm very suspicious. It was unsold at $5k last time.

Very suspicious, it was at 5K and hadn't hit the reserve with 20 minutes left.  I've seen plenty of late ebay jumps but they usually require more bidders jumping in late than I would suspect there would be for this bike.  Then again the market is just nuts right now.
