I just REALLY like the RZ. It's simple still, but it's not a complete lean-over-the-tank crotch rocket either.

My RZ and DS-7 are polar opposites in a lot of ways, yet feel familiar when riding them. I'll know more when my R-5 and RD-400 are done. I highly suggest you acquire one of each!............. :clint:

I also have an 84RZ and a 75 RD. The RD is a nice bike to ride around town to make noise and spray for mosquitos... The RZ is a nice curvy country bike that loves to be rode hard. Both put a smile on your huge smile on your face. I also have a original looking 74 Z1A. it has my old drag bike engine on it. It ran 5.88 all day long in a dragbike chassis. Fun to catch the ninja boys off guard at the stop lights. dont handle worth a damn though ..lolol

I once got the nano-second drop on my friends Hyabusa on my vfr 700 at a light, it was epic!

Same here. I had a busa guy get embarrassed by my old sleeper. When he pulled up at the station i was at, he asked me if my bike was stock!! I said "why yes it is". He said no wonder those things were so bad back in the old days.  :celebrate: :celebrate:

I was considering buying another RZ, but just could not justify the price to purchase, or for parts. And then it would just be more to modify it as I cant leave anything stock. So I just decided to make my 73 RD better with upgraded suspension and big bore liquid cooled motor. I really like the way it looks with wire wheels and TZ type aluminum tank better than an RZ anyway

Having had an RZ with Toomey pipe kit in the past, comparing it to the RD400 now is difficult because of the time separation.
Gotten quite fond of the RD400 so I don't really miss the RZ, especially after Chuck gently touched the top end with "update porting."

Any RD, RZ R5 or Kawi triple is a welcome addition. Keep them all.
