Thank you for the mention and link - hate to see the beast go.

If you or anyone in the neighborhood wants to attend, I will be there all day Friday to show the bike and answer questions; I have a 'Visitor' pass to share ... just PM me for my phone number to make contact and hand-off the pass.

Compared to other years, this is definitely the year of the two-stroke - there is some really nice stuff! Looking through Wednesday's results, it looks like day-one had some deals, but that's normal. The Kawasaki H1's and H2's were gold, and even those sorry toad Low-boy TZs went for a lot IMO. That H2-R750 sells a few lots before the TZ750 - it will be interesting to see if it meets reserve ... which I suspect is Very steep:
H2-R750 Kawasaki

I believe there were only 3 H2R's built compared to a total of 600 TZ750's; no waiting around to bid on the 'other' one!

I was browsing the lots for today and came across this one. The color and year stuck out to me.
How many incorrect things can you spot on this "Original example"? :dawg:

wrong front brake reservoir, looks like the front wheel is the wrong size, headlight ears don't look right, seat strap looks like poop, braded front brake line wasn't factory, don't remember if the rear brake pedal came painted black??

Evans Ward

Incorrect graphics/ colors for a '73 as graphics/ color on bike looks to be a '75. Seat may be incorrect as something doesn't look right there and front and rear turn signals are a mis-match with 2 different designs.

Lol, yep lots wrong with it. The first thing that caught my eye was that it's in the listings as a 1973 but it's painted Portuguese Orange. The VIN is correct for a '73. I noticed the listing stated "Original", and I thought WTH, not really!

Here's what I noticed from the photos:
1) wrong paint and graphics for 73 model
2) tank graphic is placed too low and does not wrap around the rear
3) wrong fuel tank & fuel cap
4) front wheel is wrong diameter (no fender clearance)
5) incorrect front master
6) front brake hose should be black, not braided
7) incorrect clutch lever
8) incorrect grips
9) missing right mirror
10) missing chrome trim rings on front signal stalks
11) missing dampers, cylinder heads and cylinders
12) carbs are natural finish, should be black
13) seat strap should go under metal trim strip
14) seat is over-stuffed and wrong shape (should be more flat and have kick-up on the rear)
15) incorrect rear turn signals (look to be from an R5)
16) incorrect rear turn signal lenses (should be red)
17) missing rear fender damper (for license plate)

Crazy. I never thought of my RZs as a retirement plan!
But to paraphrase Elliott in the movie E.T: I'm keeping them.
