Hi guys,
after 14 years not riding a bike on the streets I bought a FZ750 in spring. After a few weeks my daughter grabbed it as her TDR250 had to be restored and took longer as expected. So I bought a cheap TDM850 for me for the summer. As good it rides and sounds it was too high for my rotten bones.....
So it comes handy that the boyfriend of my niece did his bike licence and liked the TDM and bought it.
So I was on the hunt for a small bike. Looked a while for a SDR200 but that one is very rare in Germany. I bumped into a DT250MX Caferacer. I liked it and I bought it.

Beside the different looks it has a much modified engine. Modified with a YZ cylinder, snowmobile piston, 34 Dellorto carb, echaust based on a TZR125 one. The rare side is that the bike has all modifications written in the German papers of the bike. Otherwise it would be near impossible to ride legal.

Pretty neat!

Might want to come up with some better brakes on the front.

I've thought about doing something along those lines at some point.

Keep us posted!

Yeah,
let's say. It stops.......well some sort of. :whistle:  Plan is to install a RD fork, wheel and brake. At the moment a 19" is installed and with a 18" one you have more tire choice. But to be honest. The bike is quite easy to ride and make a lot of fun. And for a DT250 it has a pretty strong engine. Forgot to write above that also the crank is heavily modified. Longer stroke, now 70mm instead of 64mm. With a 72mm piston in it, it has roughly 280cc now.

@JKV45
beside the front end change the plan is to change the tank also. At the moment a RD200 tank is on it but I have 3 different alloy tanks on the shelf who perhaps are short enough and have a big tunnel enough to fit on the frame.
I have a TZ alloy swing arm which I will try if it fits. YZ swing arms doesn't fit.
But the bike would be okay for me at it is, so modifying it is not urgent.
