Not much going on this summer in the garage, at least nothing interesting enough to post.

Big jobs at work, and a few more panels to cover my garage wall though...

It pulled to redline no problem, so the bike kept pulling after 8000, but it is pulling as hard at 11,000 as it was at 8,000
My bike has 40-14 sprockets, which help with the close ratio trans in taking off from a stop, but also help pull redline in more gears before the speed limiter kicks in at the 180 mark.
Think powervalve opens around 7000?

They are 45 at the crank up to 92, then 93 up all JDM 250's were limited to 40 at the crank. They are CONSIDERABLY lighter weight than a RD400, so that helps the feel too. As well as leading edge 2 stroke chassis design... hope it keeps working for you.
My severely worn 3XV2 pulled a bit over 40hp at the tire at like 8000, and just stayed flat at 40hp to 11,000... no idea how the Japanese can keep control of the dyno curve like that.

They do not say what speed the bike pulled, that would help it sell, if it really set a record in 2013

I bit the bullet a number of years ago, as I also made a decision to finally go big, or give up on owning a 4cyl stroker. Although my RZV was very clean and original.... It was a serious money pit. Glad to say I did it, but I'll never be interested in another 4cyl stroker again. Definitely out of my system.

Thanks, I have mixed feelings about the whole thing.

I can (kinda) afford it, but I know it's just to do it, and a total waste of money. I barely ride around town anymore, and if I'm headed out of town, or out of state, I'm not gonna choose an RG.

I'd probably end up flipping it after I clean it up and ride it a bit. I just don't have any more room for shit I don't use.

After looking at this thread, I went out to the garage today, to verify my RZV would start up...
Luckily for the 3rd time this year without any issues or dead cylinders.
Went and put another 35 miles on it.
Total of about 1500 since may of 2019...
I really should sell it while it's working so good, but it took so long to get it where it's at.

4cyl strokers are a love/hate kind of relationship
Market has seemed to weaken a little the past couple years on them.

The 3XV is as close to a street legal TZ as you can get. Crankcases are identical except the machining for the generator. Rods are identical, Cranks fit, cylinders fit, reed valves...intakes...transmissions and clutches...
I love my RGV's but a properly built 3XV has to be the ultimate corner carver
The head designer of the 3XV also created the 4XV...

Looks good and hopefully it runs just as well for you. They are definitely restricted, but still fun to play around on. Do you have it registered as a TZR250, or does your state not recognize bikes not sold in the US?

And what really sucks is, the float valves I got from Yambits were junk, and I had to end up buying OEM Yamaha valves at an extortionate rate, to keep carbs from leaking....

Thanks, kind of takes me back to 1980, when I started painting custom vans...sometimes we could let our imagination go. But when repairs came up more often, we started making paint jobs kind of standardized and easier.
