I just bought a quick shifter solenoid for my RS250, from the Czech Republic....
Got hit $$$ for the wire transfer, and just got a notice from shipper that I owe $41 in tariffs...
Shifter was €119
Not sure how they calculated it, but I'm not doing that again.

It could have fit in someone's pocket...

Hope they win top spot this year.

Been going through this thread, trying to update it, as quite a few pics, and vids got wiped out by the forums they were originally posted on. Realized I hadn't posted here that I finally got the genuine TZ250 3YL wheels I found, with some tires mounted on my 3XV2, with newly made spacers.
120x70 and 160x60 tires on the 3.5 and 5.25 wheels.

And then I found a correct TZ 3YL rotor which is same diameter as the TZR 210mm... only used 2 years on the TZ, then the TZ went to an even smaller diameter...185mm

Thanks guys.
I started with matchbox, and then in 68 hot wheels came out, and they were considerably more cool. I also remember going to a local place that had the big 8 lane 1/24 scale cars to rent.
But ended up with an aurora HO set my uncle gave me when he went to Vietnam.... And that is where track days began.

I'll get back to bikes now  :vroom:

And hopefully get my Zeel wired up for the RS250 this weekend.

Track days...

Not sure how many of you out there are at an age where slot cars were a big thing. They were all I thought about as a kid...loved racing and tweeking them to always go a bit faster...always wanting more track...more cars. But couldn't afford the cars I wanted as a kid, had to wait until I was able to find them again many years later...

Finally dug them out of the box they were in and got them out into the sun for a bit. Need to make a shelf or two out in my garage for them at some point.

Looks more populated than the bike shows I do try and go to.
Last year 2 of the 4 that are reasonably close, had rain... which does not help bring in a crowd.

 thanks, I am hoping for a little more hp, but don't want it to be a time bomb...so I'll keep the timing close to what I have now.

Took the RZ350 to a vintage bike show this past Sunday, the Suzuki Stinger next to it won the trophy...my FJ1100 seemed too new in most people's minds to be considered vintage. But the RZ of the same year had everyone telling a story about back in the day they had s chance to ride/friend had one...

Every one likes two strokes.

Put bike on a dyno to get some run time in.
Then did one baseline run, using jetting from previous engine configuration.

68hp at the wheel with 250cc's

Will add my Zeel programable ignition and try to get bottom end cleaned up on jetting for more runs in a few weeks.
Hoping to break into the 70's

The steel frame I'm sure costs less to make, and I'm guessing at some point they will make some form of naked/standard version of the 4cyl 400. Using an aluminum beam frame would be hard to make the bike fit more categories other than full sport.
Honda has done the same with their 4cyl 400, using a steel frame where they can make a sporty looking bike, and a standard looking bike with just different bodywork.
Not like the late 80's early 90's where the JDM 4cyl 400cc bikes were fighting on the track as miniature super bikes.
Biggest advantage of the new bike is, you can go to the dealership and get whatever you need, without searching throughout the world for that one particular part.

Track days are in my future....19 years later than I originally planned. But the RS has made it back around in its attention rotation

I know the Aprilia has a dry clutch installed. So I dug around and found the company that makes the set up to convert over. Eventually it will be in the Aprilia parts books, but it can be bought in Italy right now.
Seriously considering the conversion .....    ....unnecessary, but so is my 217hp rated RSV4 1100 to start with

Yamaha not capable of getting the same power as all the other V4's. Maybe next year's redesign will work better

yeah, that looks like a nightmare

It's not so bad after doing it a few times, just hard getting at the adjusting nuts with all the other crap in the way.
This engine dynoed a bit over 65hp at the tire, before this rebuild, a few years back. To get that out of a 250, complexity is one of the accepted evils...
Hope to get close to 70 before I'm done this time around
