General Chatter / Quick Glo Substitute
December 03, 2024, 06:42:51 PM
Been using quick glo for a long time to quickly clean up and shine lightly rusted chrome parts.
Looks like you can't get it anymore.
Any recommendations on any similar product that may work as well?

Turning Wrenches / Re: Replace Brakes or Rebuild

Quote from: Longbow62 on November 03, 2024, 09:31:32 PMThe ultrasonic cleaner got one of my carb slides unstuck after about 2 hours with diluted super heated simple green. Caliper halves stayed in 2.5 hours. The pucks are still stuck. I've tapped with a hammer. They are soaking in WD-40 now. Any tips to get stuck pucks out?
I pump them out with grease. You can also use air pressure but need to be careful. You likely won't get them out any other way. Search YouTube prob some videos on there.

Turning Wrenches / Re: Suzuki T20 muffler pipe seals
November 02, 2024, 11:54:49 AM
I came across a G3SS pipe I didn't know I had and thought of this. Measurements match above. I actually have a T20 also I was planning to restore but my local chrome shop has closed permanently so I'm skipping it for now. Anyway, this was the seal I was planning on trying knowing I probably couldn't get the originals. They both connect with a long seal and a clamp band. Also that Kawi seal fits S1 S2 etc so I think there may be cheaper reproductions available.

I was thinking a seal for a G3SS/KH100 might work....

Ha, I had a TTR225 and had similar issues. Electrical leave you stranded issue ended up being bad/stuck contacts in kill switch. Carb worked fine after cleaning but was only good to sit for a week or so with pump gas cuz it was so finicky. I def would have eventually replaced carb if I had kept it. Loved it when it was running tho

Pretty sure I have a pile of spare damper parts including some rods. These can be hard to come by. I will have a look if you want

I ordered a bunch of 2k Raptor liner in spray cans online so I figured I need something to mix it really well. That's when I found this gizmo.

General Chatter / Auction Fail
August 27, 2021, 08:18:00 PM
So I go down to the auction house this morning to check out the non runners. They actually have  some bikes in really nice condition so I bid on three of them that would make nice flips. Don't usually win any because the prices get too high to make it worthwhile. But they also had an RD60! It was complete, but pretty rough so would need restoration.I dropped out at $700. I think whoever got it paid around $1000 or so if you include auction fees. So I didn't get any bikes at all as usual.
I was also trying to get a golf cart. So I'm driving down the road with my wife explaining to her what I'm bidding on and how high I'm willing to go and she says stop being such a cheapskate and just buy the damn golf cart. So I glance at my phone and see the auction counter going down with just a few seconds left. I smash the button and tell my wife "fine, I'm buying it". So we get to our destination and I check the auction results. I hit the wrong button and ended up buying some total piece of junk cart I don't want! Worst part is the cart I wanted went for 900 and I was willing to go to $1000!
So now I have to pay the renege fee, or pay for the piece of crap and tell them to keep it there and put it in the next auction. Moral of the story, no bidding while driving. At least not when you wife is in the car.....
