Quote from: 2steve on February 12, 2026, 12:28:44 PMCMSNL cable recommended by Tim came in ok from Netherlands FedEx. No fuss, probably not enough value.

Glad it was a cable. Box was quite damaged.

Cable looks pretty good quality-wise.

Two things: plastic "cap" over the splitter housing was damaged, if you see the box, you would know why. I'll zip tie around it and use it anyway.

And, the cost total was under $60, verifying what Uwe just said above.

Hi guys,
I sent a parcel to the USA last week through DHL(which is in fact German post). As a private person you get now a warning that parcels with worth over 80 Dollar will get covered with a tariff depending where the goods in the parcel were produced. Even if the worth is under the 80 Dollar you have to state were the product came from. That has never needed to be stated on the custom forms before. As a private you can stated what ever you want how much the worth it, so not really a problem other than you are not covered when a parcel get lost. To be honest, that never happend in the last 25 years is send parcels to the USA. As a official company you obviously can't write on the custom forms what you want.........
I will tell you if it got through as soon the parcel reach the recipient.
Regards Uwe

I know the bike, it used to be mine. :afro:

its a great bike. why is it 3400? because  he offered me that when i had it and i said 'sure' honeslty, mechanically its as a solid as you'll ever get. I even replaced the crank seals. Pete (seller) was our ups guy, great dude.   he got it from me when he retired.
yes its a 5500 mile bike, when i got it he prob put 2k or so on it? maybe less. the speedo was a mess so i changed it.

it really just needs a solid paint job.

I did plan on keeping in and repainting but i already have 2 r5s so... eeehhhh

if you read back, he wants to run premix as a test before relying on the pump.

heres what you can do.. and its easy.  don't hook up the pulley cable at the oil pump.. just  let the pump run at min stroke. thats going to be almost nothing oil wise.  but it also keeps the pump lubricated and it will bleed it out when you're test running. then after the 1st tank, hook the pump up and set it and youre golden.  I know some guys that used to race triples would run the pump just to lubricate the main bearings , have the pump set to a very minimal  static setting, then run premix in the fuel. different system but it absolutely works.

To answer the question about having the pump spin with no oil going to it, I wouldn't do that. You can take the plastic gear off the inside of the side cover so it won't spin.

Plus one. Premix on the street sucks.
