Last post by SmokeAddicted - October 13, 2026, 06:15:24 PMI think it's solved. The respective coil does get warm, but I discovered that it's directly related to the position of the crank. That cost a fair bit of time. Voltage is not dropping at the battery.
What still puzzles me is the spark plug on the active coil side, has a small discharge when turning the key to the off position. I can control which spark plug dose this, by rotating the crank.
All this to ask, is that somewhat normal? It's a small pop. Nothing like when it's kicked over. Just seems unusual to me.

I would honestly rather play it safer with my squish, so if the new base gasket doesnt bring it where it needs to be, I'll have to have the squish band milled.
The heads have been milled flat, can you think of another reason that my squish is tighter at the back? It didn't change almost at all when I swapped heads. I read about a head centering tool and pinning it, but that seems like overkill for mine being a street bike.

The ebay carrier fixed it! Almost no play on the carrier, and no more random chain tension.
I remember when I first got this bike running and riding, I was messing with something and found the sprocket loose! And that was with lock tabs secured, so theres no telling how that went down.

Last post by SmokeAddicted - October 12, 2026, 07:20:12 PMI'll double check, but the harness hasn't been touched since my ownership. Bike ran perfectly fine prior to this. It's also draining the battery when the coils are energized. Not falling and staying steady, but draining.
Since posting, I pulled the lower/case boot off yet again, and noticed the black wire between the stator and regulator practically fell out of its connector with no force. I'm assuming it's some type of ground wire.
