Nice work on the engine rebuild.

Great numbers.  I'm sure you will find a bit more.

 thanks, I am hoping for a little more hp, but don't want it to be a time bomb...so I'll keep the timing close to what I have now.

Took the RZ350 to a vintage bike show this past Sunday, the Suzuki Stinger next to it won the trophy...my FJ1100 seemed too new in most people's minds to be considered vintage. But the RZ of the same year had everyone telling a story about back in the day they had s chance to ride/friend had one...

" Every one like two strokes."
As well they should! Two magnificent bikes you have there, unless the Suzuki is yours as well. Then three magnificent bikes.

Track days...

Not sure how many of you out there are at an age where slot cars were a big thing. They were all I thought about as a kid...loved racing and tweeking them to always go a bit faster...always wanting more track...more cars. But couldn't afford the cars I wanted as a kid, had to wait until I was able to find them again many years later...

Finally dug them out of the box they were in and got them out into the sun for a bit. Need to make a shelf or two out in my garage for them at some point.

Nice. Me and my buddies had them but as I recall just 1 each. My Mom would drop us off at the local track to spend the afternoon. I think it was an 8-lane road race course. I had a Chaparral.

started out with Hot Wheels and the orange track kits. There were hobby stores everywhere where we got our glue together models and paints, etc. Also, the model airplanes and fuel, etc. many of them had slot car tracks and sold the cars and anyone could race on their tracks for free. This was around 1968 to begin with living in San Diego. I started noticing Taco mini-bikes around neighborhood and gravitated towards the kids that had them so I could bum rides on them (I was hooked) and local Sears stores had monthly ride days in the parking lots to try out their minibikes and go-Karts hoping you'd by those or a Puch 125 or something. There were go-kart tracks all over town where you could ride on their tracks for cheap. I kept getting deeper and deeper into this stuff and my parents hated every bit of it, but would sometimes take us as a treat and to keep an eye on us and out of trouble (didn't work) :dawg:

Then kids would "borrow" their parents or older brother's motorcycles, and we'd ride those at the local lake. there was 1 of those Puch's (2-Stroke, 4 speed) and an S-90 I remember, then we moved to SF for a year after 4th grade, before returning to SD and picked up where I left off and never stopped. Some good times there!

Sorry about the thread hijack but the memories came flooding back  :jacked:

Thanks guys.
I started with matchbox, and then in 68 hot wheels came out, and they were considerably more cool. I also remember going to a local place that had the big 8 lane 1/24 scale cars to rent.
But ended up with an aurora HO set my uncle gave me when he went to Vietnam.... And that is where track days began.

I'll get back to bikes now  :vroom:

And hopefully get my Zeel wired up for the RS250 this weekend.

Been going through this thread, trying to update it, as quite a few pics, and vids got wiped out by the forums they were originally posted on. Realized I hadn't posted here that I finally got the genuine TZ250 3YL wheels I found, with some tires mounted on my 3XV2, with newly made spacers.
120x70 and 160x60 tires on the 3.5 and 5.25 wheels.

And then I found a correct TZ 3YL rotor which is same diameter as the TZR 210mm... only used 2 years on the TZ, then the TZ went to an even smaller diameter...185mm
