Some good lookin' stuff in that picture! What master cylinder is that, Oxford? It looks just like the one I have on my RZ350, and I've forgotten what it's from.

$$. I think the current bargain price is about $105 each from Partzilla, so $60 for the pair was the proverbial screamin' deal. Good teamwork, Mark & Dennis!

I reached out via email and got no response. Told him my buddy was going that way at the end of the week and could pick them up...oh well, they're going to a good home.

:agree: we are all motorcyclists, and if you're on a two-stroke, you and I will have more in common than if you're on a (insert any other brand/type/design/era of motorcycle here), but that just means our conversation will be longer. History is full of bad shit that happened because one group lacked tolerance for another.

:vroom: rode it! We did 30 miles in Washington's Capitol forest, and my boys did well. In one of my now-famous low speed tipovers, I bent my OEM handlebars last week. Can you believe it? After only 21 years... I should file a warranty claim. Anyway, instead of trying to straighten them, I put on an old set of OEM Yamaha (Honda?) ATV bars that were lying around. I'm 6'3" and have always kinda thought taller bars would be more comfortable when standing, which I succeed in doing about 85% of the time.

They look pretty wonky, and feel a little weird when I get tired and sit down, but definitely great when I get up on the pegs where I belong. As a bonus, they have steel slugs welded in the ends that I had to drill and tap 5/16-16 for bark busters. They are absolutely bomb-proof now! I know, they're uneven and the left grip isn't safety wired yet... I was in a hurry, OK?

So Dxrat, what's the dry clutch like? I've ridden a couple of Ducatis with dry clutches, but never had the opportunity for a back to back comparison on the same machine.

That's dirt cheap, but are they a better alternative to...?

According to the lore of my father, who owned a '69 Sonnett, Ford sliced two cylinders off the Capri V-6 to make a V-4 that saw industrial use primarily. Also used by Saab and maybe another European car...? IIRC, pistons, valve gear, oil pump were same parts as the Capri engine and available on the shelf at the corner auto parts store, while V-4 specific parts came from the tortuous Saab parts "system". It was a fun little car to drive, with a four speed on the column and a rev-happy engine that sounded so good. Why my dad let 18 year old me drive it is still a mystery, but it came through its time with our family unscathed.

There are scads of these front ends on eBay, priced from reasonable all the way down to cheap. I don't know anything about the quality or performance of these parts, but I can see the appeal of a USD front end that bolts right in.
