Dgorms paid less than that for a much nicer example.

I do, and his kids are having a tougher time with it. They have to sell his house, and there are complications with that. Might be selling off motorcycles and parts at some point; I'll let the group know.

Any chance you have access to another wiring harness? Swapnostics is a valid technique!

My good friend Dennis Gormley has passed from this life. Lift a glass, light a bowl, crank up your amp or twist a throttle in acknowledgment of a class act and a life well lived. Godspeed, buddy.

"If you are trying to establish there is direct point to point continuity of a single wire, I believe it should read something like ~.1 to 10 OHM depending on wire gauge. If you read nothing (0 OHMS) point to point it means open circuit. Just curious if your meter is Analog or digital? Also, if you have different ranges you are able to select for reading sensitivity."

I have to differ. The opposite of zero resistance is infinite resistance. If you short the leads of a multimeter together your meter will display zero resistance.

Starting, pulling away from a stop, no stalling, and everything that wasn't in that rpm range was normal. You could watch the tach and say "ready, right now" as it hit 5000.

I had this as well a couple of years ago with my original set of carbs, and believe it was caused by worn needles and/or needle jets.

Could it be a wiring/conector issue? I'm thinking 40 year old harness could have a conductor that ohms out ok, but can't carry an amperage load. Do you have a way to load test wires?

I like everything about this, except:
"im not selling them"  :confusing2:
Perhaps you'd share the file, and I could get my nephew to print it...

Hey 2-stroke friends and fiends. You may know my buddy Dennis (dgorms here) from his posts.

He's in a bad way these days and fighting hard. I spoke with his son this afternoon, and Dennis is in the hospital; he's been ill for awhile now, and it was a bad weekend.

My man could surely use some help from his friends, so I'm asking for your thoughts, positivity, prayers, love, energy...whatever you've got.

If you've interacted with D, you know he's a solid dude, a total motorcycle freak and generous to a fault.

His son is going to keep me updated as he can, and I hope to be able to visit him. I'll let you all know what I know.

He's the good-looking one. On the left. Thanks for stopping in

You are a patient man. Nobody here would blame you for transplanting a YZ250 mill into that thing.
