Quote from: LMS on May 06, 2026, 10:35:03 AMI used SEM rattle can primer and spraymax 2k last time. Using the same this time, except this time I'm going to use sealer before paint, not just fill primer. I think that was the issue the first time, no sealer primer.

Looks like that SEM primer is self etching. I would use something else as that last time I painted my bike the paont supplier told me not to use self etching primer with 2K paint as they react to each other.

Two into one pipes sound sweet, check out the video in the link.

Wicked motorsport is making one for banshees that actually seems to work quite well

What type of primer and paint did you use on it?

Quote from: m in sc on April 29, 2026, 06:54:25 PMthe alternators are pretty dead reliable.  fit a modern regulator rectifier and you're pretty much golden. like said, ive run total loss lighting, it sucks.

yes its a printed y boot. I drew that one up but at the time didn't have a printer that would do that, but I do now. :gentleman:
thats tpu85. fuel proof and flexible.  yes, I have it in black as well. the blue was a test roll

That blue will look pretty good mounted on a bike.

Just put a bit of yamabond or whatever case sealer you use on the keyway to seal it and leave the oring out. It only fits some older model 350's that have a machined groove for it

Ive seen quite a few people complaining that the see through bowls dont seal well and they are constantly fighting fuel leaks.

Turning Wrenches / RD350 wheel base centre line

Does anybody know where the center line of the wheels runs at the swingarm pivot. Looking for the distance from the edge of the swingarm pivot to the CL

So, turns out the LCs use the same kicker shaft as RZs and banshees so I started looking for a LC Kick starter. Different bend to the RZ one, but that didnt really matter. Yambits sells a copy that looks way better than the ebay chines one, but I ended up finding a really good shape one close to home for decent money. Fits perfect and the bend clears the rear sets nicelyRD.jpg

This ad also lists Yamaha radian as having same spline I have no idea.
I saw those and may just order one to use in the meantime and see if it will actually hold up.

Quote from: m in sc on March 23, 2026, 11:40:37 AMbut I think you can swap the lever from one knuckle to another?

Just checked a RZ compared to RD. Knuckle shaft diameter, length, and detent hole, all the same.

Unfortunately for me the banshee kicker doesnt fit onto the knuckle with a circlip like the RZ.

Quote from: 1976RD400C on March 23, 2026, 08:44:39 AMRDs have the same spline but the lever is straight, not with an offset.

I thought that too, but the one from my Rd is significantly bigger diameter.

Turning Wrenches / RZ / Banshee kick starter

Im really getting tired of the little Banshee kick starter on the 421 motor I have in my 73 350. Rz kickers are way overpriced. Are there any other bikes with the same size splines that I can make work? No problem if it needs a little reshaping to fit with rear sets.

Quote from: RDnuTZ on February 27, 2026, 11:58:23 AMis it possible to fit a small O-ring on shaft directly behind counter sprocket?
Would need a groove machined in for the oring like a yz

One of the manuals I have, either Rd, Banshee, RZ or Suzuki GS mentions case sealer on the collar #35 so I always put some in there.
