my 70 has original paint same scheme, its by no means perfect but im not going to repaint either, its definitely unusual to see them these days in that scheme.

Purple is my favorite color. But for that price you might be able to buy another R5 with that scheme. And you can always decide on paint later.  :twocents:

not a decent one, they arent that cheap anymore. 1400 is steep though. my local guy could do that for half that.  :twocents:

My 400 was done for $750 with embedded decals.  Granted mine is one color, but your quote seems steep.

You can find a nice original paint R5 for not much more than that. I see more of the orange/ white or black ones though

Your speed blocks look nice. I'd say put that $$ somewhere else.

Got pretty far tearing down today.  Next step is to pull out the lump, the frame is completely stripped other than the forks.  Looking at all the connectors in the harness, it will be good to clean and lube those old bullets....

Looking good! This is random... but I have a R5 grey tach cable if you want to switch. Don't know if you care about those little details or not.

Looking good!

Stock paint always wins in my book.

Aftermarket speedblock paint on my LC is so gone.  Will be going with standard '80-81 JDM two stripe blue RZ350 livery.

I do like the gold DS7 paint almost as much as the purple, tho.

Well Hot Dog.  Dropped off the fenders, my Spooner brake stay, and my Spooner fender extensions at the chrome shop today.  $400 total including fixing some dents in the rear fender.  Can't wait.   Now that I know the price is "reasonable" I'll be dropping off lots of little bits when I gather them up, like the front brake hardware, chain pullers, tail light bracket, and some bolts.....

I've got to admit he came in under my "No Go" price.  I was expecting 800 and willing to go 500.  In Jersey no less!

He told me $2.50 per nut or bolt, $75 minimum  so you know my head is swimming now with "what can I do..."
