This is the curve of a oem Yamaha RD400 cdi that Canada/Europe? had. I wrote in the dial indicator numbers. My HPI is set about 2 degrees more advanced that this with 100 octane.

I have one of those IT175's. Just out of curiosity, stock cold engine, no oil, hasn't ran in months, 150psi. They are kind of a high-performance motor.

If you have an air compressor you could buy a die grinder at Harbor Freight and clean up the ports yourself.

That's a beauty. There's just something about high pipes that is so cool.

Quote from: 2steve on February 12, 2026, 12:28:44 PMCMSNL cable recommended by Tim came in ok from Netherlands FedEx. No fuss, probably not enough value.

Glad it was a cable. Box was quite damaged.

Cable looks pretty good quality-wise.

Just got a text from FedEx saying I owe $20 in "tax, tariff and fees" on this (broken) $20 cable from CMSNL. :busey:

That's how they did me. 2 weeks after delivery, "you owe us money"

A little sealer on the lock tab washer and threads too.

Yes, turn counterclockwise to loosen. Put a drop of oil on the threads of the bolt you use as a puller.

If the dark brown wire from the front left turn signal got plugged into a regular-colored brown wire, then it would act like that.

To answer the question about having the pump spin with no oil going to it, I wouldn't do that. You can take the plastic gear off the inside of the side cover so it won't spin.
