it depends. if its solely rpm related, not throttle position related, its electrical. if its at a certain throttle position, its fuel related.

yes. use a box end wrench or a socket. those switches are pretty easy to find as well. i know mikes xs carries them.

carb slides in backwards? cutouts to air filter. check that 1st. type of fuel wont cause that kind of issue.

it looks like the 1st pic has bosses to tap if you wanted to go that way like the one on the left. thats what i would do. make the new cases match the original one.

I havent had a GT185 since about 1997 so, my memory is fuzzy on specifics.
